For over 30 years PICS Telecom has been committed to bringing technology full circle, over time this vision has led to the creation and development of telecom’s circular economy. For those who are unsure of the term circular economy, please refer to the below.
PICS Telecom offers a comprehensive, full-stack network service suite and solution that seeks to maintain, repair, reuse, and recycle surplus and/or redundant network equipment, preventing said material and equipment from entering landfill sites across the globe.
This service model, alongside PICS Telecoms’ recent 0% Landfill accreditation enables PICS partners to experience significant cost-savings whilst rapidly reducing their environmental impact and damage, thus aiding environmental CSR goals.
PICS green value proposition identifies and tackles multiple sections of the waste hierarchy model as detailed below.
The waste hierarchy model is a tool used in the evaluation of processes that protect the environment alongside resource and energy consumption from most favorable to least favorable actions. The hierarchy establishes preferred program priorities based on sustainability. To be sustainable, waste management cannot be solved only with technical end-of-pipe solutions and an integrated approach is necessary.
The waste management hierarchy indicates an order of preference for action to reduce and manage waste and is usually presented diagrammatically in the form of a pyramid. The hierarchy captures the progression of a material or product through successive stages of waste management and represents the latter part of the life-cycle for each product.
