Due to, increased demand throughout the covid-19 pandemic, alongside technologies growing role within societies across the globe, any increased demand results in enhanced supply chain strain. Fast forward to the present moment, collectively we find ourselves in the second large-scale supply chain disruption of 2021.
The Global Semiconductor shortage / chip shortage:
From the mobiles, we use to connect with each other on a daily basis, to the vehicles used for transport around the globe. The foundation of our tech-based, digital world is built upon semiconductors. With many manufacturing facilities already at maximum capacity prior to the pandemic, the huge covid driven tech boom we have experienced, ultimately has led us to the current global shortage we find ourselves in.
PICS Telecoms Response:
PICS Telecom is proud to offer its global, network partners with a green, cost-effective circular service suite, in which PICS Investment recovery service model can be found. This enables PICS Telecom to offer fast and efficient lead and delivery times for any network hardware components in order to act, respond and assist with any supply chain issues.
» PICS Marketplace | Hosting a comprehensive selection of network hardware equipment with up to 90% cost-savings over OEM price.
PICS views the current global chip shortage as an opportunity to further develop the circular economy and scale the reused equipment market. Perhaps the current supply chain issues we face are a knock-on effect of the mass consumption models that we have adopted over the years? Perhaps a re-evaluation of our consumption patterns are in order, is it not time to consider the impact of our actions, specifically the environmental impact and issues that this method of consumption and production produces.
