BRISTOL, UNITED KINGDOM – PICS Telecom is thrilled to announce its relocation to a new premises, marking a significant milestone in the company’s journey. The new site in Severn Beach, Bristol, not only signifies growth and progress but also reflects PICS Telecom’s unwavering commitment to environmental sustainability.
“While establishing our new site, I felt that it was extremely important to not only create an environment that everybody would love working in but to also ensure that we practised what we preached,” remarked HSEQ & ISO Compliance Manager Georgie Read.
“We are a company that tells our customers to Reduce, Reuse, Recycle & Regenerate, how could we build a new site without incorporating that?”
At PICS Telecom’s new site, energy management takes center stage. The company has installed energy-saving lights throughout the warehouse, augmenting an existing system that utilizes lights sensitive to natural daylight. These lights adjust their intensity based on the natural light, significantly reducing energy consumption. Additionally, motion-controlled lighting further enhances energy efficiency.
Furthermore, PICS Telecom has embraced the principles of “reduce, reuse, recycle” in its infrastructure choices. The racking and hand-pick shelving solutions, sourced from D&R Racking, are second-hand, repurposed from a previously unused warehouse, demonstrating PICS’ commitment to circular economy.
In outfitting the welfare facilities, kitchens, locker rooms, break-out areas, boardroom, and offices, PICS Telecom has opted for reused furniture from its previous Nailsea site and suppliers like WantDontWant and Andrews Office Furniture. These choices not only contribute to waste reduction but also support PICS’ sustainability efforts.
